To show its appreciation for the Kansas City community, Shawnee Mission  Health has once again partnered with the Kansas City Symphony to present  an evening of Christmas music at the iconic Kauffman Center for  Performing Arts. Joy to the World: A Christmas Concert with the Kansas  City Symphony. 

Reserve your free tickets by calling the Kansas City Symphony Box Office at 816-471-0400, Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Up to four tickets can be reserved. Seating is on a first-come,  first-served basis and doors open at 6 p.m. Parking is available in the  Arts Center Garage for $10. Valet is available for $18 in advance or $20  night of.

Caregiver Summit for Parkinson's Disease

The Caregiver Summit is open exclusively to caregivers of people with Parkinson's disease - such as a spouse, parent, child or friend. The Summit will have bilingual sessions which will include Intimacy and Parkinson's, Communications and Coping Strategies, and Collaborative Caregiving in Action. The Caregiver Summit will be broadcast live from Phoenix, AZ to satellite locations. The content will be recorded and archived for later viewing. Simultaneous Spanish translation will be available through your cell phone and headphone. Chamber Charity Days - Johnson County Christmas Bureau

Chamber Charity Days - Johnson County Christmas Bureau
Connect & network with fellow Chamber Members while supporting an organization that provides life-changing services to those living in our very own community!

Up to 20 volunteers will either work to set-up the shop (if not yet open for clients) or assist clients with their shopping, staff a variety of the shop’s departments, help load cars, etc. Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age to participate and will be registered on a first-come basis.

The JCCB is a grass roots agency that provides holiday assistance each year to 10,000-12,000 low-income residents of Johnson County, Kansas. The JCCB runs a 10-day Holiday Shop in December where pre-qualified clients shop by appointment. All clients are below 150% of the poverty level and reside in Johnson County. The Holiday Shop is similar to a much smaller version of a department store. Each client may pick out: groceries personal care items (items such as soap, shampoo, diapers, toilet paper, hygiene products, toothbrushes and much more) holiday gifts (often it is the only holiday gift a child receives) books children’s clothing hats, gloves and scarves a gift for themselves winter coats (for many children it will be their only winter coat).
